The Toyota Auto Museum

Follow up to our museum gigs was the Toyota Automobile Museum. The main building of the museum showcase about 120 automobiles, mainly involving the history of practical cars from the end of the 19th century when the first gasoline powered car was born to the present. European and American cars are on the 2nd floor, domestic cars are on the 3rd floor. The annex building, which was opened in April of 1999 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Toyota Automobile Museum, exhibits the history of motorization of Japan elaborating on the influence of the automobile on our lives and culture.

I am not a car enthusiast but seeing those cars especially the European cars were really admirable. I just wished I own one of them. So, here are the pics we've taken during our visit.

Toyota Commemorative Museum

Me and my friends, paid a visit at the Toyota Commemorative Museaum, actually It was the Toyota Automobile Museum that I wanted to see, so I can also ride the Linimo train but a friend of mine insisted to also visit Toyota Commemorative Museum, since we can avail a discount ticket for the 2 museums. The museum's infrastracture reminded me of the Red Brick Musuem in Yokohama. It is made of bricks colored in red. At the entrance lobby, a huge circular weaving loom welcomed us. I had no idea that Toyota started as a textile machinery manufacturer before shifting to cars.

ESTABLISHMENT
The Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology was established jointly by the 13 companies that make up the Toyota Group. The musuem is located at the site of the former Toyoda Spinning and Weaving Co., Ltd. headquarters plant. The building was thus preserved as a valuable industrial resource. The Toyota group originated from Sakichi Toyoda the inventor of the automatic loom and his oldest son Kiichiro Toyoda, who began production of looms and automobiles. Their aims were to pour all their strenght into developing the economy and society through "Being Studious and Creative". The Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technolgy was established to give today's young people, who must shoulder the burdens of future age, a glimmer of an understanding, if possible, of the importance of "Being Studious and Creative" as well as to inspire the them with the wonder of "making things".

I attached a video of Toyota's latest loom here it is:
